Lucky supporters of FC Bayern Munich got to catch a glimpse of their favourite players on Monday (31 July), as the Bundesliga champions went about their first day in Singapore. FC Bayern Munich are in town for the week-long Singapore Festival of Football Driven by CDG Zig. They will face Premier League giants Liverpool FC for the Singapore Trophy presented by Audi and Standard Chartered on 2 August at the National Stadium.

On Monday, FC Bayern Munich full-back Noussair Mazraoui and midfielder Ryan Gravenberch made a special appearance at the Lion City Sailors Training Centre for an exclusive meet and greet session with 25 fans. The players gamely posed for pictures and signed autographs for the awestruck fans. Those present also got to hear from the players about some of the highlights of their football career. FC Bayern Munich are in Singapore for the first time since 2017, and their return has been warmly received by their supporters. On Monday, over 40 fans waited outside FC Bayern Munich’s training ground at the Lion City Sailors Training Centre. Their patience was rewarded, with some of them getting autographs from the likes of Matthijs de Ligt, Alphonso Davies and new signing Kim Min-jae.

Mazraoui, who is enjoying his second visit to Singapore, was not surprised by the fans’ enthusiastic reception. He said: “I’ve been here for a tournament when I was younger, but with (my former club) Ajax at the time and I was 12 years old. I already saw what kind of fans Singapore has – Singapore is really football crazy, so for me it’s not (surprising).”

The Bundesliga champions will play Liverpool FC on 2 Aug for the Singapore Trophy presented by Audi and Standard Chartered at the National Stadium. Liverpool FC earlier defeated Leicester City FC 4-0 to retain the Standard Chartered Singapore Trophy on 30 July, while Tottenham Hotspur beat Lion City Sailors 5-1 to clinch the Tiger Cup in the opening match on 26 July.

Off the pitch, fans are encouraged to attend the Football Interactive Fanzone, which will be open on 1 and 2 August. Fans will get the chance to meet club legends, giving them a once-in-a-lifetime moment with their football heroes. There will be photobooths, giveaways and performances, along with Q&A sessions with club legends. Fans can also meet the team mascots including Mighty Red of Liverpool FC and FC Bayern Munich’s Berni.
