Since the government’s takeover of the Singapore Sports Hub, the KASM team has been executing rapidly and resolutely on its core vision to transform Kallang Alive and Singapore Sports Hub into a vibrant and leading sports, entertainment and lifestyle destination in Asia.
The team has curated and executed world class events from international sport tournaments including the HSBC Singapore Rugby Sevens, Singapore Festival of Football, and the recently concluded FIBA Intercontinental Cup Singapore 2023, to performances by award winning artistes the likes of Black Pink, Backstreet Boys, Jacky Cheung and JJ Lin. We also opened our venues to schools and hosted over 100 National School Games this year, welcoming crowds of parents and students alike who came to cheer on the school athletes. Together with the impactful community activities that the team has organised such as the Harmony Sports Fiesta and Majulah Fiesta, the Singapore Sports Hub has truly come alive.
“We are already seeing the spinoff effects of these international sport and entertainment events at the Singapore Sports Hub into the Singapore’s economy in the areas of hospitality, retail, dining and tourism,” shared Magnus.
In the pipeline are more sport, entertainment and community events including a match between Singapore and Guam in the National World Cup qualifiers to be held in the National Stadium this October. Over at the OCBC Arena, there is the VITAGEN Singapore Squash Open 2023 in November and the 14th Women’s World Floorball Championships 2023 in December. Upcoming performances not to be missed include those by Charlie Puth and Eric Chou, among others, at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. There are also Deepavali and year-end celebrations with the community to look forward to. In early 2024, we welcome fans to the highly anticipated marquee concerts by Coldplay and Taylor Swift.
