Sports: Singapore Sports Hub celebrates Deepavali with Rangoli & Rhythm, a multi-sensory experience

This Deepavali, embark on a multi-sensory journey at Singapore Sports Hub with their Rangoli & Rhythm celebration. Join in the celebration with our Guest-of-Honour Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Communications and Information & Ministry of Health, Dr Janil Puthucheary. Held at the OCBC Square on 10 & 11 November, it will be a weekend of captivating activities that will evoke your five senses and offer experiences to remember.

Deepavali wouldn’t be complete without rangolis, a quintessential part of this celebration, and patrons are invited to put the finishing touches to our rangoli to bring the intricate patterns to life. Come witness the combined effort of the community transform into a giant captivating masterpiece that embodies the spirit of the celebrations.

Dance battles are a staple of Bollywood movies and TV dramas, and Singapore Sports Hub is bringing cinema to life with an exhilarating Bollywood dance-off. The five teams that make it to the finals will battle it out this Deepavali weekend in-person at the Sports Hub! Four of the five teams will each walk away with $100 Kallang Wave Mall vouchers while the winning team will walk away with $600 Kallang Wave Mall vouchers.

Start your Deepavali weekend with flavourful festive treats and a symphony of cultural traditions and modern experiences! Don an elegant saree and take a photo or unleash your creativity at the Diya (lamp) painting station where you can add your artistic touch to a clay lamp and take home your masterpiece as a memento.

From mesmerising Peacock Dance performances, where dancers imitate the graceful movement of peacocks, to the breathtaking Karagam Dance, which showcases the intricate footwork of performers as they balance pots on their heads – prepare to be transported to the heart of traditional Indian culture. After all the activities, fuel up with the rich flavours and deep aroma of Deepavali delicacies – you can expect an array of delicious treats including Pani Puri and Murukku.

When night sets in, hop on board an open-top double decker bus for a trip around Little India to take in the bright festive lights and colourful displays of Little India.
