Gillman Barracks, Singapore’s iconic art sanctuary that houses international art galleries and prominent restaurants, comes alive with a new vibrant community and craft hub – The Southern Depot. The Southern Depot combines exciting artisanal goods, craft, dining, wellness, and lifestyle motorcycle brands under one repurposed military roof, heavily inspired by Gillman Barracks’ rich heritage. This new offering comes after a successful tender of Block 43 and Block 47 of Gillman Barracks initiated by the Singapore Land Authority (SLA), as part of its rejuvenation plans to transform the district into a creative lifestyle enclave.

The brand’s ‘Cycles, Craft, and Community’ concept will be showcased through its dynamic partnership with artisanal lifestyle brands to provide a hybrid of offerings suitable for the general public, creative communities, and brand enthusiasts. “We have many programmes and partnerships in the pipeline, and are looking forward to introducing a unique experience for visitors to discover the limitless potential of The Southern Depot,” said Goh Kian Sin, Executive Chairman of DIDI Group, which owns The Southern Depot.

To celebrate its official launch in a big fashion, the event venue is hosting The Depot Debut from 9 to 10 March 2024 (Saturday to Sunday), featuring workshops and activities by vendors such as Tiong Hoe Specialty Coffee, KultBespoke, HeartyPlayFam, Re-store and more. Perfect for foodies, art enthusiasts, paw-rents and to welcome the school holidays with little ones, The Depot Debut invites guests on an unforgettable cultural journey to ignite their passion and spread positive vibes with other like-minded creative folks.

Those looking for a fun-filled family day can also head down to indulge in delicious grub while connecting with foodies and motorcycle hobbyists, from the respective retail and F&B offerings of tenants DIDI Lifestyle, Weber, Little Island Brewing Co., and Kaffa Bella. Subsequently, visitors of The Southern Depot can look forward to curated programmes and installations from weekend craft markets, seasonal pop-up events and co-working spaces – truly a cultural playground that keeps on giving!
The Depot Debut runs from 9th to 10th March 2024 at 43 and 47 Malan Road, Singapore 109443, 12pm to 9.30pm on Sat / 10am to 6pm on Sun. RSVP and book your workshop tickets here
