The Executive Committee of the Football Association of Singapore (FAS) has called for the election of members of the FAS Council for a four-year term beginning in 2025 and ending in 2029. The election will take place at an Extraordinary Congress – the FAS’ annual Congress usually takes place in the third quarter of the year – on Monday, 28 April 2025.

In accordance with the FAS Constitution and the FAS Electoral Code, the election of the Council Members shall be carried out in two ways: on a Slate Basis and on an Individual Basis (Article 28.4 of the FAS Constitution). In the Slate Basis, a team comprising nine (9) candidates for the office of the President, the Deputy President, the four (4) Vice Presidents and three (3) Council Members shall be proposed and elected en bloc (Article 28.5 of the FAS Constitution). In the Individual Basis, the election of the remaining six (6) Council Members shall be proposed and elected individually (Article 28.6 of the FAS Constitution). The FAS Council shall consist of at least one female Council Member (Article 35.1 (d) of the FAS Constitution).

Schedule of election milestones:

• Monday, 17 March 2025: Nominations open
• Monday, 31 March 2025: Deadline for nomination of candidates to FAS General Secretariat
• Thursday, 10 April 2025: Deadline for submission of replacement of candidates
• Friday, 18 April 2025: Announcement of candidates qualified to contest
• Monday, 28 April 2025: FAS Extraordinary Congress

The FAS Electoral Committee is responsible for all tasks relating to the organisation, running and supervision of the election for the FAS Council, including conducting eligibility and integrity checks on the candidates (Article 7 of the FAS Electoral Code). The committees – comprising three members each – were voted in on 25 September 2021.

Election and submission of all forms shall be done at the FAS General Secretariat which will operate from 9.30am to 6.00pm daily, including Saturdays and Sundays.
