8 SEP 2025, KUALA LUMPUR – Malaysia secured a narrow 1-0 win over Palestine in their Tier 1 International Friendly at the Sultan Ibrahim Stadium on Sunday night. The match drew about 7,084 fans, who witnessed an experimental Malaysian side under Peter Cklamovski grind out a clean sheet victory.
Malaysia wasted no time asserting themselves. Just two minutes in, #14 slotted home with confidence, blasting into the roof of the net to give the Harimau Malaya a dream start. The early strike suggested an open game, but both teams soon struggled to find rhythm, leading to a cagey first half.

Despite the lively opening, the match quickly lost tempo. Both sides appeared content with the exercise of squad rotation and match fitness. Malaysia started the second half brightly, but chances were few and far between as the game dragged.
For Palestine, coach Ihab Abu Jazar fielded a mix of regulars and fringe players, using the occasion to test depth within his squad. His team pushed forward in the final 20 minutes, enjoying more possession, but Malaysia’s backline held firm.

Palestine’s coach acknowledged Malaysia’s progress: “We know we lost, but congratulations to Malaysia. Their ranking will improve with time. For us, it was a chance to see new players, and I’m proud of the last 20 minutes when we put pressure.”
Meanwhile, Malaysia’s Peter Cklamovski praised his team’s mentality and squad depth: “I’m really proud of the group. The commitment, the execution, the goal – all positive signs. It was about giving minutes, building fitness, and maintaining strong mental focus. A clean sheet and a win to build on.”
The match ended 1-0, with Malaysia taking confidence in their defensive solidity and squad depth, while Palestine left with valuable minutes for their developing players.
