Netball Singapore has announced the new Singapore Vandas national squad, with 21 players selected following the conclusion of the 2026 Deloitte Netball Super League. The refreshed line-up features six uncapped players and marks the start of a new chapter for Singapore netball.
The squad update also sees the retirement of long-serving co-captain Khor Ting Fang, who has been a key figure in the national team set-up since 2019, earning 61 caps for Singapore. In addition, Yew Shu Ning and Jenine Ang will be stepping away from the national set-up for a break.
Five players have earned their first call-ups to the Vandas: shooters Sara Lightfoot, Charlotte Lee and Zulfa Rashad; midcourt player Laura Low Shu Yi; and defender Uzma Rashad. Their selection reflects the growing depth of talent within Netball Singapore’s pathway, with players emerging through its development and age-group programmes.
Tara Steel, Head Coach of the Singapore Vandas, said, “The squad represents the next phase for the Vandas, at an exciting time as we defend our Asian Netball Championships title in August, and continue to chase SEA Games gold in 2027. The Deloitte Netball Super League provided a strong platform to assess players, and the newcomers have earned their places following consistent performances throughout the competition. We thank Ting Fang for her immense contribution, leadership, and performances for the Vandas over the past six years; she will be greatly missed. Her legacy and influence will continue to be felt within the team as we build on the standards she has set.”
Netball Singapore CEO Daniel Ho added, “We congratulate all 21 players on their selection. Transitions within a squad bring both challenges and opportunities, and we are confident this group has the talent and determination to continue raising the standard of Singapore netball on the international stage. This is an especially important year for us as we look to defend our Asian Netball Championships title in August, and we believe this squad is well placed to rise to that challenge. We hope Singaporeans will come together to support the team as they train hard and compete with pride for the nation in the months ahead.”
The squad will begin its campaign with a test series against the Australian Asian Netball Association from 16 to 18 April at Our Tampines Hub. Admission is free, and fans are encouraged to come down and support the Vandas.
