Professional local esports organisation, Team Flash, announced today that they have signed on four esports athletes and a team coach to compete in the international Brawl Stars Championship and two sim-racing drivers to compete in the E1 Championship, Asia Pacific’s premier sim racing championship.
Team Flash will also come under new management with the appointment of Mark Chew as their new Chief Executive Officer. Mr Chew will look to enhance the capabilities of Team Flash, provide financial stability and build a viable career pathway for esports athletes. Team Flash will also look to secure new commercial partnerships, sponsors and investors to fund their growth across Southeast Asia and solidify their position as one of the top international esports organisations in the region.
Team Flash currently has teams competing in three countries across Southeast Asia; Vietnam, Thailand and Singapore. The teams currently participate in eight (8) divisions including Arena of Valor, FIFA Online, Free Fire, League of Legends, PUBG Mobile, Wild Rift, with Brawl Stars and E-Racing being the latest additions.
Brawl Stars Championship
The Brawl Stars team comprising Nicholas “CoupDeAce” Ng, 26, Jerome “Response” Kuek, 16, Jordon “JayKay” Koh, 22, and Chui Zi Kang “CZY”, 19, will be battling it out for a place in the World Finals against teams around the Southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand (SEA &ANZ) region for a prize purse of over US$1 million. They will be led by 23-year-old team coach Christopher “Wigglyspoo” Seah.
Nicholas “CoupDeAce” Ng, Jerome “Response” Kuek and Jordon “JayKay” Koh who competed under PSG Esports last year, brought glory to Singapore by clinching the 2020 Brawl Stars World Championship. They defeated seven other countries to secure their title victory and earned US$200,000 for their triumph. This year, they intend to defend their title competing under Team Flash.
Team Captain Mr Ng said, “I think we have a young but talented team of players, and with the guidance from our coach and the other members of Team Flash, I believe we have what it takes to go all the way again this year and defend our World Finals title.”

Brawl Stars is a mobile video game developed by Finnish video game company Supercell and features multiplayer online battle arena and third-person hero shooter gameplay. The Brawl Stars Championship is an open tournament for players around the globe and consists of eight (8) seasons. Each season lasts one month and consists of a global Championship Challenge, one Monthly Qualifier per region and one Monthly Final per region. Upon the conclusion of the eight seasons, the World Finals will be held to crown the Brawl Stars Championship winner. Teams who have earned the most points throughout the tournament year within their region will qualify for the World Finals. In the SEA & ANZ region, only the top team can qualify for the World Finals.
Team Flash began their 2021 campaign by clinching the February Monthly Final and will look to continue their dominance in the March Monthly Final that is set to take place on Saturday 3 April from 11am onwards.

E1 Championship
Ar Muhammad Aleef “Hamilton” and Jason Tay have been appointed to race under Team Flash and will be competing in the upcoming E1 Championship from 7 April – 2 June 2021. The E1 Championship is broken down into eight (8) rounds featuring real-life circuits from around the world, with 14 teams and 28 drivers competing for a total prize pool of US$15,000.
Mr. Aleef enters the team as an accomplished sim-racer, having won a total of 10 championships in the past two years and entered three World Finals, representing Singapore in the E Race of Champions World Finals, Logitech G Challenge World Finals and the GR Supra GT World Tour.
Mr. Aleef said, “I’m extremely grateful for this opportunity to race under Team Flash and to continue my journey as a professional esports racing driver. I look forward to participating in the upcoming E1 Championships with the goal of doing Team Flash and Singapore proud.”

Appointment of New Team Flash CEO
Team Flash has also appointed Mark Chew as their new Chief Executive Officer, who takes over the reins from co-founder Terence Ting. Mr. Chew has held commercial and leadership roles at MP & Silva, StarHub and Sport Singapore, and is currently one of the Managing Directors at local sports media agency, Reddentes Sports.

We hope to build on our success from recent years in Vietnam and pave the way for more esports athletes in the fast-growing ecosystem.
