Glow’s multi-sensory concept space is designed to make festival-goers feel like they’ve been transported deep into the Amazon, enjoying a wellness experience in the most tranquil and magical of environments.Ms Ong Ling Lee, Executive Director, Sports and Wellness, Singapore Tourism Board said, “We are proud to support homegrown wellness events such as the Glow Festival 2023, which showcase the wide range of innovative wellness offerings in Singapore, while making them accessible to both locals and visitors. Such events add vibrancy to Singapore’s calendar of events and support our ambition to become a leading urban wellness destination that prioritises holistic well-being.”
The pandemic has led to collective scrutiny of the true meaning of wellness and its importance to mental health. As urban dwellers in Singapore resume living in the new normal, Glow Festival aims to cater to their new well-being needs through its comprehensive program meant to transform and uplift participants’ spirits.
Glow’s 2023 line-up comprises several components: specially curated workshops and wellness classes hosted by celebrity instructors, delicious food items at selected Marina Bay Sands restaurants, an interactive mobile app offering gamified rewards-based fitness challenges, and a dazzling closing party at MARQUEE Singapore.
In partnership with established wellness brands PURE Group, lululemon, and CRU, Glow Festival brings together world-renowned fitness practitioners and well-being experts who will lead the bespoke workshops and classes that they have curated and designed exclusively for the Festival. Specially created and curated by Kingsmen, the multi-sensory studio space spans the size of four tennis courts, and is designed to highlight humankind’s special connection with nature. Every workshop session promises to be a unique experience immersing participants in the sounds, smells, and sights of the natural world.
In addition, Glow Festival participants can use The Glow App from 1 January to 12 February 2023 to complete gamified fitness challenges island-wide. Titled ‘LightEarn’, the fun interactive narrative of the experience is designed to amplify the connection between exercise and mental health, with runners, walkers, cyclists, and hikers standing a chance to win up to S$25,000 in cash prizes and many other attractive rewards. In the spirit of giving back, and to further promote the mental health theme, the Glow App will also be fundraising for Community Chest in support of its 40th anniversary in 2023. 100% of funds raised will be channeled through Community Chest to the Samaritans of Singapore to support its essential work in mental health.
Festivalgoers can also look forward to scrumptious menu items at some of Marina Bay Sands’ celebrity chefs and signature restaurants. To close off the week-long fitness and wellness extravaganza, a dazzling wrap party will be held on 12 February at MARQUEE Singapore, one of Asia’s top nightlife venues, with celebrated DJs set to play.
Mr Martin Capstick, Chief Executive of Exceed Sports and Entertainment and the founder of Glow Festival said: “Mental, physical, and emotional well-being are at the core of Glow Festival 2023’s messaging. We want to inspire festivalgoers to adopt new practices to live happier and healthier lives and present them with a truly unique opportunity to unwind. We also believe in the strong connection between improved mental well-being through exercise and the simple act of giving. To that end, we’re very proud to be supporting Community Chest and the hugely important work of the Samaritans of Singapore.”
