For many in Singapore, VivoCity is a mall and more: it’s a backdrop to life’s little milestones. First dates, family outings, spontaneous retail therapy, or sunset strolls by the waterfront, over the past two decades, it has quietly woven itself into the rhythm of everyday living.
In 2026, VivoCity turns 20. And instead of a single blowout party, the city’s largest lifestyle destination is stretching the celebration across an entire year, inviting everyone to be part of the story. Since opening its doors in 2006, VivoCity has evolved into more than just a retail hub. With over a million square feet of space and hundreds of stores, it welcomes tens of millions of visitors annually. But beyond the scale, it’s the shared experiences that define it.
This anniversary, themed “Celebrating 20 Years, For Everyone,” leans into that collective memory, honouring not just the space, but the people who have made it meaningful. Tying the entire celebration together is a commemorative VC20 emblem, symbolising connection, diversity and the countless moments that have unfolded within its walls.
A key highlight of the year-long festivities is a collaboration between Mapletree Investments and The Art Facult, —a social enterprise supporting artists on the autism spectrum. Five artists from The Art Faculty will reinterpret VivoCity through their own creative lens, producing illustrations inspired by the mall’s architecture and energy. These works will debut as a large-scale collage installation, transforming the space into a living gallery.
But the collaboration goes beyond exhibition. Selected designs will be turned into limited-edition lifestyle merchandise, meaning visitors can take home not just a keepsake, but a story. Each purchase contributes to supporting the artists and their craft, adding a meaningful dimension to the act of shopping.

The celebrations kicked off with the VC20 launch campaign, setting the tone with a mix of playful, family-friendly experiences and interactive moments. One standout: Celebrate 20 in Colours, where children create vibrant abstract artworks that come together as a collective installation. It’s a simple yet powerful idea: many individual expressions forming one shared masterpiece, much like VivoCity itself.
Elsewhere, the mall transforms into a discovery trail with the VC20 Stamp Quest. Visitors move through different zones, collecting stamps that gradually reveal a colourful illustration—turning a casual day out into a mini adventure. Add to that pop-up treats like candyfloss, popcorn stations and balloon giveaways, and the experience feels less like a shopping trip and more like a festival woven into daily life.
Beyond physical experiences, VivoCity is also leaning into digital innovation. Through its VivoRewards app, shoppers can unlock “Flash 20” deals released on the 20th of every month, redeem rewards, and even play interactive games for prizes. New features like eGifting and digital vouchers make it easier to share experiences—whether it’s sending a last-minute gift or planning your next shopping day.
What makes this 20-year celebration stand out is the sheer scale of activities or promotions, coupled with the intention behind them. From inclusive art partnerships to community-driven installations and interactive experiences, VivoCity is positioning itself not just as a place to shop, but as a space to connect, create and belong.
And as the year unfolds with more collaborations, rewards and moments yet to be revealed, the invitation is clear: come back, rediscover, and be part of what the next chapter looks like. Because after 20 years, VivoCity isn’t just celebrating its past, it’s celebrating everyone who’s been part of it.
