Dive Into the World of CRYBABY: Singapore Oceanarium’s Most Adorable Underwater Adventure Yet

This school holiday season, Singapore Oceanarium is trading ordinary aquarium visits for something far more whimsical. From 24 June to 30 August 2026, visitors can step into the emotional, imaginative universe of CRYBABY through CRYBABY Cry Me an Ocean, a larger-than-life activation that transforms POP MART’s iconic character into an enchanting cast of marine animals.

Presented by POP MART in partnership with Resorts World Sentosa (RWS) and the Singapore Tourism Board (STB), the experience marks a global first: the very first CRYBABY activation ever staged inside a real oceanarium. It is also the largest character activation hosted by Singapore Oceanarium to date.

Known for its signature teardrops and heartfelt stories, CRYBABY has captured the heart of collectors around the world. Created by Thai artist Molly, the character embodies the emotions we all experience — joy, sadness, vulnerability, resilience and everything in between.

Now, CRYBABY is diving beneath the waves. The Cry Me an Ocean activation reimagines the beloved character as a collection of adorable marine creatures, each inspired by ocean life and accompanied by its own unique personality and story. Set against the backdrop of one of the world’s largest oceanariums, the experience creates a magical intersection between contemporary pop culture and marine discovery.

The result? A journey that is equal parts Instagram-worthy adventure, collectible showcase and meaningful exploration of the ocean.

Visitors will spot the first signs of CRYBABY’s underwater world long before stepping through the doors of Singapore Oceanarium. Standing proudly outside are two towering five-metre inflatables that instantly command attention.

Part deep-sea guide, part whimsical guardian, THE ANGLERFISH glows softly amidst the darkness, symbolising hope and self-reliance. Inspired by the mysterious creatures of the deep ocean, this gentle giant reminds visitors to “be your own light amidst the darkness.”

Equal parts cute and protective, THE PUFFERFISH is covered in spikes alongside its sea urchin companion. Despite its prickly appearance, its message is one of kindness and self-care: “I may look prickly all over, but my heart is gentle.”

Together, these larger-than-life inflatables create the perfect welcome into CRYBABY’s emotional underwater universe, and, naturally, an irresistible photo opportunity.

Inside Singapore Oceanarium, the adventure continues with 11 immersive photo zones thoughtfully integrated throughout the attraction. The indoor trail begins with THE WHALESHARK, a stunning two-metre sculpture inspired by the ocean’s gentle giant. Positioned at the start of the experience, the installation sets the tone for a journey that combines storytelling, art and marine wonder.

As visitors explore the Oceanarium’s galleries, they will encounter a series of CRYBABY marine characters placed alongside real aquatic habitats. From the mesmerising Ocean Wonders gallery to the thrilling Shark Seas tunnel and the iconic Open Ocean viewing panel, every installation has been carefully woven into the visitor experience.

The effect is both playful and surprisingly meaningful. Rather than existing as standalone displays, the characters encourage guests to look more closely at the marine creatures around them and discover new perspectives on ocean life.

Each installation is accompanied by a character story board that introduces the personality and emotional narrative behind the CRYBABY marine character, helping visitors connect with marine conservation themes through storytelling and empathy.

While the activation is undoubtedly a dream for content creators and collectors, its purpose runs deeper. Singapore Oceanarium’s mission has long been centred on inspiring greater knowledge, love and action for the ocean. By integrating CRYBABY into real marine environments, the attraction creates an unexpected gateway for audiences who may not typically engage with conservation messaging.

Through emotional storytelling and playful character design, visitors are encouraged to develop a stronger connection with marine life and a greater appreciation for the ocean’s fragile ecosystems. It’s a collaboration that demonstrates how entertainment and education can work hand in hand — making important environmental messages accessible to visitors of all ages.

Beyond the activation itself, fans can continue their CRYBABY adventure at a dedicated CRYBABY-themed POP-Up Store located at WEAVE, Resorts World Sentosa’s lifestyle and retail destination. Here, visitors can browse and shop the coveted Cry Me an Ocean collectibles and merchandise collection.

For those looking to take home something extra special, guests who present a same-day Singapore Oceanarium ticket and spend a minimum of S$128 at the pop-up store will receive an exclusive CRYBABY Cry Me an Ocean Eyemask, while stocks last. For collectors, it may well become one of the most sought-after souvenirs of the season.

Singapore has become known for hosting immersive experiences that blend global pop culture with world-class attractions, but Cry Me an Ocean feels uniquely special. Where else can visitors pose with giant CRYBABY sea creatures, walk through a tunnel surrounded by sharks, admire majestic marine habitats, shop limited-edition collectibles and learn about ocean conservation — all in a single day?

Whether you’re a longtime POP MART enthusiast, a CRYBABY collector, a family looking for a memorable school holiday outing or simply someone seeking the city’s latest Instagram-worthy experience, this activation offers a fresh reason to revisit Resorts World Sentosa. One thing is certain: this summer, the ocean has never looked cuter.

CRYBABY Cry Me an Ocean is on display from 24th June to 30th August 2026 at Singapore Oceanarium, Resorts World Sentosa. Outdoor CRYBABY installations are free to view, while indoor installations require a valid Singapore Oceanarium admission ticket. More information and tickets available here
