Singapore is set to welcome some of the biggest names in global pickleball as the inaugural PPA Asia 500 Leapmotor Singapore Open takes over The Sports Arena @ Singapore EXPO (Hall 10) from 23 to 26 July.
As Singapore hosts its first-ever 500-level PPA Asia tournament, fans can look forward to four days of high-energy rallies, international rivalries and top-tier talent competing for a share of US$79,000 in prize money.
Among the headline acts is American doubles specialist Collin Johns, one of the sport’s most decorated doubles players. A former professional tennis player, Johns has won 35 men’s doubles titles and was part of the world’s No. 1 doubles team from 2022 to 2024 alongside his younger brother, Ben Johns.
In Singapore, Johns reunites with multiple PPA Tour Asia champion Len Yang, with the pair entering the tournament as the No. 2 seeds in Men’s Doubles after claiming gold at the Panas Kuala Lumpur Open earlier this season. Yang will also compete in Mixed Doubles with Japan’s Aiko Yoshitomi, a Hong Kong Open gold medallist.
Another player to watch is Hong Kong’s Jack Wong, who arrives in red-hot form after back-to-back Men’s Singles victories in Beijing and Tokyo. Seeded second in Singapore, Wong will be chasing a third consecutive singles title while also leading the Men’s Doubles draw alongside Korea’s Eunggwon Kim.
Standing in his way is Vietnam’s Hien Truong, the tournament’s top seed in Men’s Singles following his title-winning run at the Panas Kuala Lumpur Open. A potential showdown between Truong and Wong promises to be one of the tournament’s biggest matchups.
On the women’s side, China’s Long Yufei will be one of the busiest competitors, contesting all three professional events. She enters the tournament as the top seed in Women’s Singles, while also being seeded second in both Women’s Doubles and Mixed Doubles.
Singapore fans will also have plenty to cheer for on home soil. Nineteen-year-old Charles Yong secured a direct spot in the main draw after winning the PickleSlam 2026 title earlier this year, marking the biggest victory of his career. Fellow Singaporean Ryan Ng will compete in the Men’s Singles qualifiers and the professional Men’s Doubles event.
“The Leapmotor Singapore Open brings together an exciting field of leading international and Asian players,” said Adrian Tan, Event Director of the Leapmotor Singapore Open and Chief Commercial Officer of Kin Productions. “With several of the region’s top-ranked players competing alongside established international names, fans can expect a high standard of competition across every discipline. We’re also delighted to see Charles Yong and Ryan Ng representing Singapore in front of a home crowd.”
Spectator interest has already been strong, with Friday and weekend tickets sold out. A limited number of tickets for Thursday’s session are still available, making it the final opportunity for fans hoping to catch the action live.
