Playback, the Singapore-based sports collectibles brand behind officially licensed trading cards and merchandise, has been unveiled as title sponsor of the SPL Community Shield 2026/27, with tickets for the newly-renamed Playback Community Shield 2026/27 available to the public from 2pm today.

The season curtain-raiser between defending SPL champions Lion City Sailors and Tampines Rovers will take place on Sunday, 6 September 2026, at 7.30pm at Jalan Besar Stadium, with both teams vying for the first trophy of the 2026/27 campaign. This marks Playback’s first season as title sponsor of the fixture, following two years of association with Singapore’s national teams.

More than just the season’s first silverware, it’s a chance to bring the football community together and welcome the new season. With the Playback Community Shield, we aim to bring the same fanfare and authenticity to club football, while putting fans at the heart of the experience.”

Commenting on the partnership, Badri Ghent, General Secretary of the Football Association of Singapore, said: “We’ve long looked forward to the Community Shield, given its traditional place as the marker of a new season. Coming off a period of real momentum for our national teams, we’re glad to carry that energy into the season ahead. Playback has been a real supporter of Singapore football – not just through their products, but as a merchandising partner too – and we’re grateful for their continued support, now as title sponsor of the Community Shield 2026/27.”

Grandstand tickets for Lion City Sailors and Tampines Rovers fans are priced at $15.00 for adults and $5.00 for concessions, for individuals aged 3 to 12 and those aged 60 and above. Lion City Sailors fans will be seated closer to the North Gate, while Tampines Rovers fans will be seated closer to the South Gate.

Fans can also purchase seats in the Neutral Zone, located in Gallery East within the main camera sightlines. Tickets for these are priced at $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for concessions, under the same age criteria. An additional $1.00 booking fee applies per transaction, with each transaction capped at 10 tickets.

The two-tier pricing structure has been retained across all categories to keep the match accessible to fans of all ages.

Matchday experience

Fans are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy pre-match activities at the Playback Fanzone and Carnival, located along King George’s Avenue near the South Gate entrance. This year’s Playback Community Shield will bring fans a full matchday experience built around the opening of the new Singapore football season, with interactive fan activities, an exclusive matchday zine, and Playback and club merchandise booths all part of the day. Selected moments from the day will be immortalised on collectible cards, forming part of a future Playback collection and giving fans a lasting memento of the occasion.

A range of food and beverage options will be available at the Fan Zone, and fans may bring these into the stadium to enjoy during the match. Spectators are also welcome to bring banners and flags that adhere to security guidelines, in keeping with an inclusive and dynamic matchday atmosphere.
