Shopping: VivoCity Turns 20 with a Birthday Playground, Exclusive Deals and Collectible Keepsakes

From miniature car races and creative workshops to limited-edition collaborations and shopping rewards, VivoCity is celebrating its 20th anniversary with a month of activities and surprises.

Two decades of shopping trips, family outings and waterfront strolls call for a celebration — and VivoCity is marking its 20th birthday with a series of activities, exclusive rewards and limited-edition keepsakes this October.

Running from 12 October to 1 November 2026, the VC20: Celebrating 20 Years, For Everyone festivities invite shoppers to race miniature cars, create personalised newspaper covers, experiment with digital art and win anniversary prizes, alongside limited-time shopping deals across selected weekends.

First launched in March as a year-long celebration of the mall’s history and community, VC20 reaches its biggest milestone this month, with a week-long Birthday Playground at VivoCity’s Central Court and more rewards rolling out over three consecutive weekends.

“As VivoCity marks 20 years, we wanted this milestone to be a celebration that everyone can be part of,” says Gwen Au, Vice President for Marketing Communications, MPACT Property Management Pte. Ltd. “We are bringing together playful experiences, meaningful collaborations and special rewards that celebrate the memories made here over the past two decades – while creating plenty of new ones. We look forward to welcoming everyone to celebrate this milestone with us.”

From 12 to 18 October, VivoCity’s Central Court will transform into a Birthday Playground filled with interactive experiences inspired by the mall’s 20-year journey.

For those who enjoy a little friendly competition, the VC20 Mini Grand Prix brings miniature car racing to a physical 6m by 4m circuit inspired by VivoCity. Participants can take control of miniature cars using dedicated simulator rigs while friends and family cheer them on trackside.

From 12 to 16 October, races cost $15 nett for one session, with five-race bundles at $65 and 10-race bundles at $120. Each race lasts 10 minutes, and participants must be at least 1.2m tall. Over the weekend of 17 and 18 October, qualifying shoppers can also enjoy five-minute races with a minimum spend of $80 across up to two same-day receipts.

The competitive action culminates in a leaderboard challenge on 17 and 18 October, with the overall champion taking home a grand prize worth $2,000 in VivoCity and mystery eVouchers.

If you’d rather take home a personalised souvenir, head to Make the VC20 Headlines, a newspaper-style photobooth by Solace Studios. Inspired by VivoCity’s opening in October 2006, the experience lets visitors pose for their own anniversary front page, complete with a contemporary newspaper-inspired design.

Art lovers can get creative at Colour Our 20, an interactive digital colouring experience featuring artwork created by artists from The Art Faculty (TAF). Visitors can add their own colours to adapted outlines of the artists’ original works, with the finished creations appearing on a digital display to form a collective artwork shaped by the community.

For a test of timing, Hit the Perfect 20 challenges participants to stop a clock at exactly 20 seconds. Those who succeed can win a prize and, of course, some bragging rights. A minimum spend of $80 across up to two same-day receipts is required.

There are also hands-on activities for those who prefer making something to taking part in a competition. From 12 to 16 October, VC20 Make & Celebrate by SPLATTIFY offers Crunchy Squishy workshops, with 15-minute sessions priced at $29 nett, down from the usual $59. The activity is suitable for children aged three and above, with parental supervision recommended.

Meanwhile, VivoCity Kids Club members can join VC20 Cupcake Creations on 17 and 18 October, decorating their own cupcake designs using colourful air-dry clay. The creations will become part of a larger birthday installation. According to VivoCity, all workshop sessions were fully subscribed as of 6 October 2026.

The celebrations continue over three weekends, from 17 October to 1 November, with exclusive shopping offers and opportunities to win rewards.

The VC20 Power Hour introduces eight anniversary-only deals across two weekends, with offers dropping at 2pm and 5.20pm on 17, 18, 24 and 25 October. Each deal is available for just one hour, with a different participating store featured at each time slot.

Shoppers can follow VivoCity’s official social media channels for announcements about the participating stores and offers, making it worth keeping an eye out before heading down.

Those looking to try their luck can also visit the VC20 Rewards Capsule at West Boulevard on Level 1. Qualifying VivoRewards members who spend at least $120 across a maximum of two same-day receipts can take a turn at the capsule machine for a mystery anniversary reward. Weekly grand prizes include $2,000 in VivoCity eVouchers.

The Rewards Capsule runs on 17–18 October, 24–25 October and 31 October–1 November, from 4pm to 8pm daily. Participation is limited to the first 240 unique qualifying VivoRewards members each day, with other terms and conditions applying.

One of the anniversary’s more meaningful highlights is VivoCity’s continued collaboration with The Art Faculty, a social enterprise by Autism Resource Centre (Singapore) that showcases and supports artists on the autism spectrum.

The VC20 x TAF collaboration features commemorative collectibles incorporating specially commissioned artworks inspired by VivoCity and the artists’ personal interpretations of the mall.

Following the earlier VC20 Design Showcase and VC20 x TAF Bottle, shoppers can now redeem two additional items: a practical pouch and a tote bag. For every VC20 x TAF item redeemed, Mapletree and VivoCity will donate $2 to Autism Resource Centre (Singapore) to support its programmes and initiatives empowering differently-abled artists.

To redeem the VC20 x TAF Pouch, shoppers need a minimum spend of $150 across a maximum of two same-day receipts. The VC20 x TAF Tote Bag requires a minimum spend of $300 under the same conditions. Both redemptions are subject to limited quantities and other terms and conditions, and transactions at FairPrice Xtra are excluded.

VivoRewards Gold members who qualify for the tote bag redemption will also receive a $10 MINISO eVoucher, subject to availability and applicable terms.

VivoRewards members can look forward to additional anniversary perks throughout the campaign. On VivoCity’s actual 20th birthday, 7 October, all VivoRewards Gold members will receive a $5 VivoCity eVoucher through the app. The 200 Gold members with the highest spending in the preceding month will receive an additional $20 shopping eVoucher.

The anniversary celebrations also include VC20 Flash20 Deals, which drop on the 20th of every month throughout the anniversary year, exclusively through the VivoRewards app. Offers range from free-to-download deals to promotions requiring fewer VRPoints to redeem.

New members can also receive a $5 VivoCity eVoucher by signing up for VivoRewards during the campaign period and making a first spend of at least $120 in a single same-day receipt. The offer is limited to the first 1,000 qualifying new members, and other terms and conditions apply.

From miniature car races and creative workshops to exclusive shopping deals and collectibles with a cause, VivoCity’s 20th anniversary offers plenty of ways to celebrate, whether you’re visiting with family, meeting friends or simply stopping by for a spot of shopping.

The VC20 Birthday Playground runs from 12 to 18 October, while anniversary deals and rewards continue through 1 November.
