A new branded extended-stay hotel is coming to Genting Highlands as Accor and Tropicana Corporation Berhad partner to launch Mercure Living Genting Highlands, expanding Malaysia’s growing collection of internationally managed hospitality residences.
Scheduled to open in 2028, the property will be located within TwinPines Serviced Suites at Tropicana Grandhill, part of the 596-acre Tropicana WindCity township. The development will feature 1,443 fully furnished suites, offering a blend of residential comfort and hotel-style services for long-stay guests, holidaymakers and homeowners.
Designed with flexibility in mind, Mercure Living caters to travellers looking for more space than a traditional hotel room. Each suite will include kitchen and dining facilities, making it suitable for extended holidays, remote work stays and family getaways.
Guests can also expect a range of facilities including an all-day dining restaurant, executive lounge, heated swimming pool, fitness centre, multipurpose function hall and other lifestyle amenities.
Set amid the cooler climate of Genting Highlands, the development forms part of Tropicana WindCity, an integrated township that combines residences, hospitality, wellness and leisure offerings. The project aims to further position the destination as a year-round retreat for both local and international visitors.
“Mercure Living Genting Highlands represents an exciting opportunity to expand our extended-stay offering in Malaysia,” said Garth Simmons, Chief Operating Officer of Accor’s Premium, Midscale & Economy Division in Asia. He noted that demand continues to grow for accommodation that combines the flexibility of apartment living with the services and convenience of an international hotel brand.
Ixora Ang, Managing Director of Marketing & Sales and Business Development at Tropicana, said the partnership reflects the developer’s commitment to creating sustainable, lifestyle-focused communities that deliver long-term value. She added that combining Tropicana’s township expertise with Accor’s global hospitality platform will offer buyers and travellers a professionally managed branded residence experience.
Mercure Living is designed around the idea of helping guests settle into a destination while enjoying the comforts of home, complemented by hotel services and experiences inspired by the local culture.
Accor currently operates 28 hotels across Malaysia, with another 10 properties in development. The addition of Mercure Living Genting Highlands further strengthens the group’s expansion in the country while introducing one of its extended-stay concepts to one of Malaysia’s most popular leisure destinations.
