Following the tournament’s successful debut as a WTA 250 event in 2025, the upgraded WTA 500 status places Singapore among an elite group of just 18 WTA 500 tournaments worldwide, alongside prestigious events in cities including Brisbane and Charleston. The elevation also positions Singapore as the opening stop of the WTA Asian Swing, attracting some of the world’s top women’s tennis players as they begin their push towards the season-ending championships.
