Food: SUSHIRO Announces New Opening at 100AM, Tanjong Pagar, the new go-to spot for lunch breaks and after-work meals in the CBD

The CBD lunch rush just got a little more exciting. If your usual weekday routine involves toggling between sad desk lunches and overpriced grab-and-go salads, there’s a new reason to linger around Tanjong Pagar after office hours: SUSHIRO 100AM officially opens on 8 May, bringing conveyor-belt comfort food and some genuinely hard-to-ignore deals right into the heart of the city.

Positioned inside 100AM mall, the latest outlet from Japan’s biggest and top conveyor belt sushi chain feels purpose-built for CBD life. Think quick sushi fixes between meetings, easy team lunches, and those spontaneous “one drink only” catch-ups that somehow turn into a full dinner spread.

But let’s be honest, the real headline here is the opening promotions. For two weeks, from 8 to 21 May, SUSHIRO is rolling out a rotating 1-for-1 sushi line-up that reads like a greatest hits menu for sushi regulars:

  • 8–10 May: Bluefin Fatty Tuna ($4.90++)
  • 11–12 May: Big Red Shrimp ($2.30++)
  • 13–14 May: Big Cut Fresh Salmon ($2.90++)
  • 15–17 May: Medium Fatty Tuna ($3.90++)
  • 18–19 May: Salmon Roe Wrap ($3.90++)
  • 20–21 May: Big Cut Grilled Eel ($3.90++)

For anyone who’s spent the past year watching sushi prices quietly creep upward across town, these are the kinds of weekday deals worth bookmarking. Especially in the CBD, where a decent lunch can easily hit the $20 mark before coffee.

And because after-work sushi practically demands a drink, selected alcoholic beverages will also be priced at $6++ throughout the promotion period. That includes Lemon Sour, The Premium Malt’s beer, and Kaku Highball, basically enough to turn a quick bite into an impromptu Friday night plan.

The opening also arrives at a time when Tanjong Pagar’s food scene is shifting beyond traditional office-hour dining. The neighbourhood has steadily evolved into one of the city’s more reliable after-dark enclaves, with workers increasingly sticking around instead of heading straight home after clocking out. SUSHIRO’s latest outlet slots neatly into that rhythm: casual, fast, affordable, and easy to gather around.

There’s also an outlet-exclusive side dish worth ordering beyond the sushi belt. Available for a limited time only at 100AM, the Assorted Tempura platter ($5.50++) comes loaded with shrimp, giant crab stick, sweet potato, eggplant, and fragrant ohba leaf tempura, exactly the sort of crispy sharing plate that disappears within minutes at the table.

If you’re planning to swing by on opening day itself, there’s an added incentive to go slightly overboard with your order. Diners who spend at least $50 in a single receipt on 8 May can join a sure-win lucky dip featuring dining vouchers and exclusive merchandise.

Of course, SUSHIRO isn’t exactly new to Singapore. Since opening its first local outlet at Tiong Bahru Plaza in 2019, the brand has expanded aggressively across the island, with locations spanning from Jewel Changi to Thomson Plaza and Mandai Wildlife Reserve. Arguably one of its most strategically placed yet for office workers, the new 100AM branch marks its 21st outlet in Singapore, with perhaps even more to come.

Timing-wise, the launch also overlaps neatly with SUSHIRO’s ongoing “Salmon Says!” seasonal menu, running through 2 June. Expect everything from aburi salmon with butter and salmon ikura gunkan to oversized salmon belly cuts and salmon chawanmushi making their rounds on the belt. In other words: if your post-work plans currently involve wandering around Tanjong Pagar wondering what to eat, this might become your new default answer for the next few weeks.
