Hotels & Holidays: The Chedi Andermatt Appoints Former Raffles Singapore Executive Thomas Goval as General Manager

Luxury alpine resort The Chedi Andermatt has named Thomas Goval as its new General Manager, with the hospitality veteran set to take up the role on 1 September 2026.

Goval joins the award-winning Swiss hotel from Raffles Hotel Singapore, where he most recently served as Hotel Manager. He previously held senior leadership roles at Switzerland’s Bürgenstock Resort, including Hotel Manager and Acting General Manager.

A graduate of the prestigious École hôtelière de Lausanne, Goval brings extensive international luxury hospitality experience and will oversee the next chapter of The Chedi Andermatt as the destination continues to strengthen its position as one of the Alps’ premier luxury escapes.

“Our ambition is to establish Andermatt as the world’s leading mountain hospitality destination,” said Naguib S. Sawiris, a member of the Board of Directors of Andermatt Swiss Alps AG. He added that Goval’s experience in luxury hospitality will help build on the hotel’s strong reputation while guiding its future growth.
